Must-Have Apps Before You Land

Yeh apps landing se PEHLE download karo — kuch wahan pahunch ke local number ke bina khulti hi nahi. Abhi 10 minute lagao, wahan airport ke mehenge wifi pe rone se bach jaoge. Ola-Uber wahan nahi hai, Grab hai. Adjust.

Single most important thing you can do: Download Google Maps offline for each country BEFORE you arrive. Go to Maps → search country → Download. You'll thank yourself the moment you land.

Run through this before your departure flight. Takes 20 minutes, saves hours of pain on the trail.

  • Grab: download and set home country to India
  • Wise: load with INR before leaving
  • Google Maps: download offline packs for all 4 countries
  • XE Currency: note the exchange rates for each country
  • Airalo: activate your eSIM plan before your flight lands
  • Proton VPN: connect on your first hostel wifi

Connectivity Order

The moment you land, do this before anything else:

  1. Turn off data roaming before landing
  2. Connect to airport wifi → activate Airalo eSIM
  3. Now you have maps + Grab before you leave the terminal
  4. Buy a local SIM at the airport only if staying > 3 weeks
