The Itinerary, Day by Day
A realistic 14-day schedule that I’ve seen work for groups and solo travellers, with buffer for the inevitable day you’ll sleep through an alarm.
Days 1-2: Singapore. Don’t try to do the whole city. One night in a Chinatown hostel, daytime at Gardens by the Bay, evening Singapore Flyer at sunset followed by the Spectra light show at Marina Bay. If you have a second full day, the Singapore Zoo is reportedly worth 6 hours, especially if you’ve got the morning to kill before the train.
Days 3-5: Kuala Lumpur. Train from Singapore lands you at KL Sentral. Drop bags, grab lunch, head up to the Petronas Towers viewing deck at sunset (book online, walk-ups get stuck in a 90-minute queue). Four nights in Krabi means one day of the Railay beach boat trip (~₹1,148 (~400 THB or ~$11.87)), one day of island-hopping to the four islands, and a half-day recovery before you fly home from Krabi airport (KBV) or overland to Bangkok.
Visa for Indian Passport Holders
You need three separate things and they’re all easy:
- Singapore: Indian passport holders need a visa (eVisa or pre-arranged) to enter Singapore. Processing takes 3-5 working days, costs ~₹1,900 (~30 SGD or ~$21.98). Apply via ICA or through a Singapore eVisa service. Must show onward ticket and hotel booking.
