Chiang Mai in December is genuinely the best time of year up north. Honestly, nowhere in Thailand is bad in December, but two places are slightly off:

What to Pack Specifically for December
December is the easiest month to pack for in Thailand. Here is what to bring.
- Light cotton or linen shirts, three or four. Daytime is 28-32°C everywhere.
- One light jacket or hoodie for Chiang Mai, Pai, and Chiang Rai nights (15-18°C).
- Swimwear, two pairs. You will be in the water daily.
